Early on in the development of the NIS, novel ways to represent complex information on health-related noxious agents and to extend it into a more comprehensive information system on Environment and Health (UGIS) were searched for / Schon früh in der Entwicklung des NIS wurde gesucht nach neuartigen Wegen zur Darstellung komplexer Informationen über gesundheitsbezogene Noxen und zum Ausbau als umfassendes Umwelt-Gesundheits-Informationssystem (UGIS).

23 years later, surprisingly, the software was found still to function today – to some extent / Wie sich nach 23 Jahren überraschend herausstellte, funktioniert die Software – bis zu einem gewissen Grade –noch heute.
