Seit der Gründung der Themengruppe (später: offizieller Arbeitskreis) Nachhaltige StadtGesundheit im Frühjahr 2019 bei der Patriotischen Gesellschaft von 1765 fungierten die beiden Initiatoren Alf Trojan und Rainer Fehr gemeinsam als Sprecher. Auf der AK-Sitzung am 9.10.2023 trat Alf Trojan von dieser Funktion zurück; als Nachfolgerin wurde Sabine Müller-Bagehl gewählt. Wie geplant trat dann Rainer Fehr auf der AK-Sitzung am 3.6.2024 ebenfalls zurück. Hier wurde keine Nachfolge bestimmt, sondern die Rolle als AK-Sprecherin wird nun ausschließlich von Sabine Müller-Bagehl wahrgenommen.

Explorative study tour concerning landscaping projects, guided by Alex Hart, principal, Dirtworks Landscape Architecture P.C., New York (https://dirtworks.us/):

(1) 2424 Boston Road, The Bronx, New York 10467, incl. „R.A.I.N Boston Road Neighborhood Senior Center“, www.raininc.org/, and residential tower. This current redesign project includes: integrating the buildings (semi-covered walkway); main entrance plaza to be transformed into a welcoming space; seating are near the rockface; redesigned picnic area; seating area also on quieter side of the building.

(2) 99 Fort Washington Av., New York, NY 10032 (Washington Heights), incl. „Riverstone Senior Life Services“, www.riverstonenyc.org/. Outdoor area recently renovated, incl. new native woodland planting (improving aesthetics, enhancing biodiversity), new furniture, improved accessibility for residents and visitors

Focusing on a wide variety of play options, we wanted to give each child, teen and adult the opportunity to explore, create, grow and learn at their own pace“. – www.westsiderag.com/2024/01/09/the-triumphant-return-of-the-nivola-horses: … The Nivola Horses, named for … the Italian artist …, have been through a lot. The 18 concrete, modernist horse sculptures … had their muzzles lopped off by vandals … In … 2021, after a water main break …, they were cut off at the legs and removed completely … While the reconstruction of the concrete horses was an undoubted victory, the plaza space … remains a complicated one … a recently refurbished playground and a basketball court … Progress … at a price … non-residents bringing their children to play on the newly-installed equipment – and moving away from the children who live in the Wise towers …

Im Rahmen des Forschungsprogrammes „Stadt der Zukunft – Gesunde, nachhaltige Metropolen“ erfolgte die 9. (IX.) Konferenz am 21.-22.11.2023 in Bonn unter der Überschrift „Therapeutische Stadtlandschaften unter Stress – Bestandserhaltung, Entwicklungschancen und Verdrängungsrisiken in einer Welt des Wandels“, vgl. 17.7.2023 und 12.10.2023 / As part of the research program “City of the Future – Healthy, Sustainable Metropolises”, the 9th Conference took place on 21-22.11.2023 in Bonn, under the following headline: “Therapeutic urban landscapes under stress – Conservation, development opportunities and displacement risks in a world of change”, cf. 17.7.2023 and 12.10.2023 [22-21].

Das Panel: „Strategien für Nachhaltige StadtGesundheit – Folgerungen aus einem Publikations-Ensemble“ sollte zur Diskussion über Strategien für Nachhaltige StadtGesundheit beitragen und gleichzeitig anregen zur Lektüre des soeben in „Das Gesundheitswesen“ erschienenen Publikations-Ensembles (vgl. 17.11.2023) / The panel: „Strategies for Sustainable Urban Health – Conclusions from an ensemble of publications“ was meant to contribute to the discussion on Sustainable Urban Health strategies and, at the same time, encourage reading the very recent ensemble of publications in „Das Gesundheitswesen“ (cf. 17.11.2023) [23-19].
