The PhD program was the second part of my 1985-1989 graduate studies in Berkeley (CA), funded by the German Academic Exchange Council (DAAD) / Das Ph.D.-Programm war der zweite Teil meiner Graduiertenausbildung 1985-1989 in Berkeley, die durch ein Stipendium des Deutschen Akademischen Austauschdienstes (DAAD) unterstützt wurde, cf. 1985-1989 Graduate studies.
