19 May 2013, Hamburger Kunsthalle: Alberto Giacometti. The Playing Fields, 25.1.-19.5.2013

“… a new perspective on the art of Alberto Giacometti (1901–1966), revealing why this leading 20th-century sculptor’s work is still regarded as groundbreaking … The “Playing Fields were models for large-scale designs for public squares that invite human participation. With their presentation alongside his group sculptures of the postwar period through to the over life-sized ensembles he designed 1960 for a public place in New York, the show reveals the full scope of his work and the contemporary relevance of his art” / „Die groß angelegte Schau … legt offen, dass die ‚Spielbrettskulpturen‘ als Modelle auf riesige Platzgestaltungen verweisen, in die der Künstler auch den Besucher einbezog. …. Taz, 26.2.2013, Petra Schellen: Auf der Suche nach dem richtigen Platz. Kunst. Die ausgemergelten Riesen-Figuren … kennt jeder. Weniger bekannt ist seine manische Suche nach der perfekten Konstellation der Figuren zueinander. Diesem Aspekt widmet die Hamburger Kunsthalle die Ausstellung “Speilfelder”.
