Treppenviertel, https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treppenviertel:… Quartier innerhalb des Hamburger Stadtteils Blankenese … vom Süllberg, Baurs Park und dem Hessepark sowie im Süden vom Ufer der Elbe begrenzt. Es gibt in ihm nur wenige befahrbare Straßen; die Mehrheit der Häuser ist nur zu Fuß über die etwa 5000 Stufen zu erreichen, die sich auf diverse Treppen verteilen … Das ehemalige Fischerdorf zeichnet sich durch einen hohen Bestand an Altbauten aus, allerdings wurden nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg etliche historische „Tweehüser“ (einfache Doppelhäuser) abgerissen und durch moderne Bauten ersetzt … Im Zuge der Analysen für eine anstehende Renovierung stellte sich heraus, dass das Haus Elbterrasse 6 [s.o.] im Kern bereits 1570 erbaut wurde und damit das älteste erhaltene Haus im Bezirk Altona und eines der ältesten Häuser von Hamburg ist … Eine besondere Herausforderung ist die Müllabfuhr im Treppenviertel, da dieses nicht von den Fahrzeugen der Hamburger Stadtreinigung angefahren werden kann. In the peer-reviewed journal “Cities & Health” (Taylor and Francis), the English-language paper “Transdisciplinary research program ‘City of the Future – healthy and sustainable metropolises’ – an initiative for sustainable urban development” was published today. Authors: Rainer Fehr, Claudia Hornberg, Stefan Zerbe / In der fachbegutachteten Zeitschrift “Cities & Health” erschien heute das folgende englisch-sprachige Paper: Transdisciplinary research program ‘City of the Future – healthy and sustainable metropolises’ – an initiative for sustainable urban development [Transdisziplinäres Forschungsprogramm ‘Stadt der Zukunft – gesunde und nachhaltige Metropolen’ – eine Initiative für nachhaltige Stadtentwicklung”]. Autor:innen: Rainer Fehr, Claudia Hornberg, Stefan Zerbe [14-13].

Abstract. Launched in 2010, a dedicated program aims to develop an integrative approach for Sustainable Urban Health in Germany. The backbone are junior research groups, jointly supported by researchers and practitioners. While the scientific results were largely produced by PhD students and postdocs, a modular infrastructure has evolved to foster transdisciplinary exchange with the practice of Urban Health and to ensure continuity. This includes annual conferences, a bilingual website, and a series of book publications. The program succeeded in the transfer of scientific findings into practice and in generating a range of diverse spin-off developments, underlining the program’s fertility and value.

Today, the German-language book “Sustainable Regional Health Ostwestfalen-Lippe – Current situation and prospects for action” was published. The editors are Claudia Hornberg, Julius Freymüller, Silja Ritzinger and Rainer Fehr. This is volume 8 in the book series “Sustainable Urban and Regional Health”, edited by Rainer Fehr and Claudia Hornberg) and published in the oekom science section of Ökom-Verlag, München / Heute erschien die deutschsprachige Buchpublikation “Nachhaltige RegionalGesundheit Ostwestfalen-Lippe – Bestandsaufnahme und Handlungsperspektiven“, herausgegeben von Claudia Hornberg, Julius Freymüller, Silja Ritzinger und Rainer Fehr. Dies ist Band 8 der Edition „Nachhaltige Gesundheit in Stadt und Region“, herausgegeben von Rainer Fehr und Claudia Hornberg und publiziert in der Abteilung „oekom science“ des Ökom-Verlags, München.

This collaborative work is divided into the following chapters: (1) Health in the East Westphalia-Lippe region – historical developments, (2) Sustainability, nature and health in East Westphalia-Lippe, (3) Sociodemographics and epidemiology in East Westphalia-Lippe, (4) Health governance in East Westphalia-Lippe, (5) Medical and nursing care in East Westphalia-Lippe, (6) Health promotion and prevention in East Westphalia-Lippe, (7) Rehabilitation and participation in East Westphalia-Lippe, (8) All sectors are health sectors – including in East Westphalia-Lippe. In addition, the book includes the technical introduction ‘East Westphalia-Lippe – a case study on regional health’ and the concluding Chapter 9: Sustainable regional health in East Westphalia-Lippe – summary and outlook / Dieses Gemeinschaftswerk gliedert sich in folgende Kapitel: (1) Gesundheit in der Region Ostwestfalen-Lippe – Entwicklungen im Laufe der Geschichte, (2)Nachhaltigkeit, Natur und Gesundheit in Ostwestfalen-Lippe, (3) Soziodemografie und Epidemiologie in Ostwestfalen-Lippe, (4) Gesundheitliche Steuerung in Ostwestfalen-Lippe, (5) Medizinische und pflegerische Versorgung in Ostwestfalen-Lippe, (6) Gesundheitsförderung und Prävention in Ostwestfalen-Lippe, (7) Rehabilitation und Teilhabe in Ostwestfalen-Lippe, (8) Alle Sektoren sind Gesundheitssektoren – auch in Ostwestfalen-Lippe. The book comprises around 60 articles by a total of c. 120 authors. It runs to 514 pages and contains c. 110 illustrations, 22 tables and 7 text boxes. The publication of this volume was supported by the Fritz and Hildegard Berg Foundation in the German Foundation Centre / Dieses Buch umfasst ca. 60 Beiträge von insgesamt ca. 120 Autor:innen und umfasst 514 Seiten; es enthält ca. 110 Abbildungen, 22 Tabellen und 7 Textboxen. Das Erscheinen dieses Bandes wurde gefördert durch die Fritz und Hildegard Berg-Stiftung im Deutschen Stiftungszentrum.

23.5.2023, SE Europe & Turkey trip Overview / SO-Europa und Türkei: Reise-Überblick

Motivation for this (private) study tour was multi-faceted; it included curiosity, wanderlust, and the intention to gather historic and current impressions in cities and regions. There also was a wish to see friends and relatives abroad, and a desire to re-connect with earlier trips in this region. One focus of interest was on impressions concerning Urban Green and Urban Health / Die Motivation für diese (private) Studientour hatte mehrere Facetten; dazu gehörten Neugier, Wanderlust und die Absicht, historische und aktuelle Eindrücke in Stadt und Land zu sammeln. Ferner wollten wir Freunde und Verwandte treffen und an frühere Trips in dieser Region anschließen. Von Interesse waren u.a. auch Eindrücke zu Stadtgrün und StadtGesundheit.
